Serve...God and neighbor

Part of our call as disciples is to live a life of servanthood.  John 13 tells us Jesus' new command, to love one another just as I have loved you. We strive to do this, not only inside the church, but also outside our walls. We offer mission events throughout the year, service opportunities through Friendship Feast.  We work in partnership with New Emergency Resource Agency (NERA) in Ponca City to help those with rent, utilities, and groceries as well. We serve and give because God first loved us. Our desire is to reach out and make a difference and help build God's kingdom through serving others.

Ways to serve beyond the church

Friendship Feast

we serve on the second tuesday of every month and the 3rd thursday of even numbered months. we meet at First Christian church in Ponca city at 5:15 PM at 7th and cleveland. For about an hour we feed those who come in for a meal. This reaches out to those on the verge of homelessness and those that are homeless.

Seasonal food baskets

each holy season of advent and lent we gather food for baskets for those here in Newkirk who may not be able to afford a Christmas or Easter dinner. We usually help around 30 families.
